Work is scheduled to get underway today on a season-long construction project on Route 422 east of Indiana.
PennDOT says there will be traffic restrictions for most of the construction season on the busy highway in Cherryhill and Pine townships. Single-lane daytime and nighttime lane restrictions begin today for a resurfacing project, causing congestion and delays on 422 between North Harmony Road, which is just west of Pikes Peak Nursery, and Route 403 in Strongstown. Traffic backups will be especially evident during heavy volume periods.
The $4.5 million project will consist of milling, patching, paving, drainage, and new guide rails. The work is expected to be completed by the end of September.
