Janet Louise (Bracken) King Evans Stoner, 89, of Clymer, PA and formerly of Ridge Crest, CA, died Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.
The daughter of Donald L. Bracken and Jessie M. (Middleton) Bracken Wahlenmaier, she was born on March 25, 1928 in Philipsburg, PA.
Janet attended Diamondville Elementary and was a graduate of Indiana High School, Class of 1946.
She was a housewife, who during her working career had been employed at a school cafeteria and as a clerk with Kmart.
Janet was a member of an American Legion Auxiliary in CA. Her favorite pastimes were completing crossword puzzles; watching TV Westerns; listening to country music and bird watching. She loved cats.
She is survived by her three sons: Gary King of Silver Springs, NV; Mark (Barbara) Evans of Quincy, CA and Todd (Pam) Evans of Inyoukern, CA; her two grandchildren: Aimee (Aldolfo) Velasquez and Janet Dixon and her two great grandchildren: Aldolfo Velasquez, Jr. and Brianna Dixon.
Also surviving are her brother, Charles Bracken of Boston, MA; sister, Donna McCutcheon of Indiana, PA and brother, John “Jack” (Carol) Bracken of Clymer, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her three husbands: Eugene King; Dennis Evans and Donald Stoner; her brother, William (Mary Jane) Bracken and her beloved aunt, Geraldine Wilkins.
Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the kindness and care Janet received from the staffs at Crystal Waters Personal Care Home and the Indiana Regional Medical Center. You were a blessing to Janet.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Clymer American Legion Post #222 in Clymer, PA. Pastor Robert Sunseri will officiate. Following the memorial service, a luncheon will be served at the Legion. Interment will take place at Diamondville Cemetery.
