IUP President Michael Driscoll will offer his mid-semester briefing today.
One of the topics that will be discussed in detail today will be the work done focusing on student retention and persistence. Last week, IUP announced that their Task Force on Undergraduate Retention and persistence, better known as TOUR, had finished their work on developing a list of specific recommendations that are designed to increase retention rates to 80% by 2022. Recommendations were split up into four different areas: Institutional, academic and skill based, financial, and Psychological and Social. Those recommendations are headed to the task force’s heads, Vice President of Enrollment Management Patricia McCarthy, Provost Timothy Moerland, and Vice President of Student Affairs Rhonda Luckey.
Other topics that are expected to be covered include the university’s budget and recent events on campus. The address will be delivered at 2:30 this afternoon in Gorrell Recital Hall in John Sutton Hall.
