The Penguins and Flyers face off for Game Two of their first-round playoff series tonight at PPG Paints Arena. The Pens took Game One, 7-0 on Wednesday, but despite the blowout, the team was quick to focus on Game Two, with the realization that no matter the score of Game One, it’s still only a one-game lead in a seven-game series.
The Flyers will apparently start Brian Elliott in goal, although coach Dave Haskol would not totally commit to that decision, saying that it’s “likely”. Elliott gave up five goals on nineteen shots in Game One.
Goaltender Matt Murray, defenseman Olli Maatta, and forward Carter Rowney were the only players not on the ice for yesterday’s half-hour practice. Murray and Maatta were given maintenance days according to head coach Mike Sullivan, while Rowney is out with an upper body injury.
You’ll hear the Penguins and Flyers in Game Two tonight on 92.5 FM U92 and the U92 Sportschannel at U92radio.com. Airtime is 6 o’clock, with puck drop shortly after 7.
