UPDATE: Nathan Dietman was sentenced this morning to serve two months in Indiana County Jail, 20 months probation upon his release, pay a $500 fine and court costs which have not been determined yet.
A White Township man will be sentenced today for a guilty plea to a single charge of resisting arrest for a domestic incident in October of last year.
30-year-old Nathan Dietman and 43-year-old Tonya Jean Hamilton fought with each other at a home in the 300 block of Maple Street and during the altercation, police said Hamilton stabbed Dietman with a knife after he choked her on the floor. Indiana County 911 had dispatched police for a reported home invasion robbery and when they arrived, Dietman was combative as he was taken ito custody. Hamilton then told the troopers that they had just been robbed and that Dietman had been stabbed by an unknown assailant. Hamilton had fled the home after the fight and had reported the robbery to a neighbor, who called 911.
Dietman was originally charged with strangulation, simple assault, false reports, disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest. The strangulation, assault, and false reports charges were disposed of at lower court.
Hamilton pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, with charges of aggravated and simple assault disposed of at lower court. She was sentenced to pay a small fine and court costs.
Also in court today, 35-year-old Carrie Ann Liddick of Johnstown will be sentenced in two retail theft cases also involving corruption of minors.
