Colin Moran hit a grand slam in his first at bat at PNC Park, propelling the Pirates to an opening-day home victory, 5-4, over the Minnesota Twins. The Pirates scored all five of their runs in the first inning.
Gregory Polanco was on base five times and Jameson Taillon went five and a third innings for the win. He struck out nine of two-run ball.
The Bucs, 4-0, are off today and resume action Wednesday night, hosting the Twins at 6:05.
Also, the Pirates have put pitcher Joe Musgrove on the 10-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain.
