The price of gasoline at the pump is rising rapidly. Triple-A says it’s up in our region in the past week by an average of seven cents, and gasoline-price monitor Gas Buddy concurs, putting the price of a gallon of 87-octane in Indiana County at $2.95. That’s thirty cents per gallon higher than the national average.
Gas Buddy says to brace yourself…it’s going to go higher as gas suppliers switch to summer blends and draw down their supply of winter blend gas. The price of gasoline has risen by about fifteen cents per gallon in the last thirty days.
Triple-A puts the state average of a gallon of 87-octane gas at $2.86, which is nine cents per gallon less than in Indiana County.
