The Bon Ton Stores, Incorporated, says it is in active discussions with “interested parties” which would acquire the store chain, as it makes its way through Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Bon Ton is in the process of closing 42 stores within its seven nameplates, but the Indiana Mall store is not on the list of closures. The company’s lenders have granted permission to extend the deadline to accept bids for the sale by two days, to tomorrow. A company statement says Bon Ton will “evaluate all qualified bids” to determine which will provide the maximum value.
The company expects to conduct an auction on April 9th, after which a Bankruptcy Court hearing to approve a sale will be held on April 13th.
Bon Ton Stores, Incorporated operates retail, e-commerce, and mobile platforms under the Bon-Ton, Bergner’s, Boston Store, Carson’s, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s and Younkers nameplates.
