The White Township Supervisors got an update on their application for a grant for the S&T Bank Arena.
The money from this state grant would be used to help with renovations and upgrades to the facility. Feasibility studies have been finished, and soon a priority list of projects to be done at the arena will be completed. As part of the application process, the supervisors passed a resolution stating that they want to undertake the project. Township Manager Milt Lady said it may take until Thanksgiving at the earliest for the state to give the township an idea if they were approved for the grant or not.
In other business, the township approved spring yard waste pickup dates for May 21st to the 25th. Lady reminded everyone that this is for yard waste only, and regular garbage or grass clippings would not be accepted. Also, they have to be ready for collection in the proper way. Yard waste must be bundled, bound or bagged in biodegradable bags and placed near the curb for the township crews to pick up. Large pieces will be chipped and all the yard waste will be taken to the Indiana County Recycling Center.
The township also approved bids for stone, paving materials and gasoline for township vehicles.
