Preliminary hearings are set for Indiana County’s Magesterial District Courts. Included among them is a woman who is charged with multiple counts of animal neglect.
Crystal Thornsberry of Rochester Mills, the owner of Heart Felt Equine Rescue, faces twelve misdemeanor counts of neglect of animals that stemmed from an investigation that started last fall, when complaints were filed that several horses under her care at a property in Conemaugh Township were allegedly not getting the proper nourishment or shelter. Thornsberry told investigators at the time that she would be moving the horses to her property in Rochester Mills. In November, neighbors notified investigators that two horses were dead in the field. By that time, some of the other horses were taken to the Rochester Mills property, but again they had no food, water or shelter.
Thornsberry is due in front of District Judge Jennifer Rega at 10:15 this morning.
Also facing a preliminary hearing today is Devaughn Street Jr. will be in court today for charges of misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment and disorderly conduct-engaging in fighting for an incident on November 22nd of last year. Street allegedly got into a fight with a bouncer at an establishment in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street that day.
