Construction season is slowly coming into focus for the area’s roadways, and there are several items of note today.
Martin Road in White Township will be closed to through-traffic between 8:30 this morning and about 3 o’clock this afternoon. Workers will be replacing a stormwater crossover pipe there. Drivers will be detoured onto Fulton Run Road and Saint Clair Road. Through-traffic from the Ernest area will be limited to only 100 feet.
PennDOT says Spruce Hollow Road in Brush Valley Township will close for reconstruction starting Tuesday, April 3rd, as part of a bridge replacement project on Route 56 that began last year. The new bridge over Little Brush Creek will have a different alignment, and Route 56 will be realigned in a $1.87 million project. The detour on Spruce Hollow Road will utilize Bursh Creek Road to Route 56. There will also be sporadic single-lane restrictions on 56, controlled by flaggers.
The project is scheduled to be completed in September.
PennDOT says Newport Road will close to traffic in Blacklick and Conemaugh townships starting on April 6th. The road will close between Clarksburg Road and Grange Road, with a detour using Saltsburg Road, Route 286, Route 217, and Grange Road.
The $2.2 million Newport Road Bridge rehabilitation project will include a new deck, steel repairs, painting, paving, drainage, guiderail, and other miscellaneous work. It’s expected to be completed in September.
