A couple of area school boards meet tonight.
The Indiana Area board will consider a proposal to add extra security measures to its school buildings until the end of the school year, while other security enhancements are being developed. The board expects to hear an updated timeline for safety and security audit proposals.
The board will consider a Buildings, Grounds, and Transportation Committee request to have the school administration to have district consultant Constellation review a list of proposed building projects to see if any of them meet the ESCO guidelines, which might save the district money based on projected energy savings. Another motion would authorize an invitation to at least two architectural firms to submit design schemes and cost estimates for a list of priority projects, along with plans for either renovations to the existing Ben Franklin Elementary School or construction of a new school to replace it.
The Indiana board will also review a list of more than $950,000 in property tax liens.
Marion Center’s board also is scheduled to meet tonight. We don’t have their board agenda.
