A performer at a hip-hop concert at the HUB has posted bail after he was arrested on drug charges Thursday night.
26-year-old Rakim Hasheem Allen of Philadelphia, better known to hip hop fans as PnB Rock, was one of five men arrested on Thursday night in an incident near the intersection of 10th and Philadelphia Street. After the concert, Allen and four others; 39-year-old Taliib-Dan Franks, 39-year-old Ethan Maurice Johnson, and 27-year-old Khalim Courtland Royal, all of Philadelphia; and 22-year-old Javonn D. Gross of Woodbury, New Jersey were in the car when the car was stopped illegally near the intersection. State troopers say four of the men got out of the car and tried to confront other drivers, but did not detail who got out of the car. When they were pulled over later on, police noticed the smell of marijuana, and a probable cause search found three bags of marijuana along with other drug-related items. All the men were charged with use or possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver. It was also discovered that Royal was wanted for parole violation. All five were arraigned in front of District Judge Jennifer Rega and bail was set at $2500 each.
Allen and Gross were able to post bail. Meanwhile, Johnson and Royal remain in Indiana County Jail unable to post bail. Court records for Franks are not available at this time.
