A day after the Penguins blew a two-goal lead to the Rangers and lost, they turned that story around against the Canadiens.
After falling behind 2-0 in the first period, the Penguins rallied for a 5-3 win. Patrick Hornqvist scored two goals, Evgeni Malkin scored his 40th, and Phil Kessel scored his 29th. Bryan Rust added an empty net goal.
The Penguins have an extended break and will not play again until Tuesday against the Islanders in Brooklyn. The Pens are tied for first with Washington in the Metropolitan Division with 87 points. The Islanders are currently last in the Metro with 70 points.
