Today will be a busy day for the Indiana County district courts. Many of the cases are summary trials and preliminary hearings for drug-related and DUI charges, but there are some facing other charges.
Devaughn Street, Jr. a 28-year-old man from Pittsburgh, faces charges of Simple Assault, Harassment and disorderly conduct-engaging in fighting for an incident in November of 2017. Indiana Borough Police charged him with those offenses after he allegedly got into a fight with a bouncer at an establishment in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street. He is scheduled for his preliminary arraignment today.
Also facing a hearing today at the district court level is Michael Vasbinder of Clymer. The 38-year-old man is facing charges of theft by unlawful taking and access device fraud that stems from an incident in July of last year. He faced similar charges along with possessing a device knowing it was counterfeit, and receiving stolen property for a case in April of 2011. In that case, he negotiated a guilty plea to the receiving stolen property charge.
