David Paul Barr, 70, of Clymer, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at UPMC Shadyside.
A son of the late Robert C. and Cora Aileen Young Barr, he was born Jan. 30, 1948, in Indiana.
Mr. Barr was a graduate of Penns Manor High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Barr was an electrician and a welder. He served as president of the Local for over 20 years and was a member of the UMWA. Punxsutawney Antique Automobile Club, Indiana Moose Lodge 174, the Moose Riders of Lodge 174, VFW Post 1989, American Legion 141 and B.P.O.E. 931.
He is survived by two brothers: Robert G. Barr and wife Carol, of Downers Grove, IL; Ronald C. Barr and wife Sara, of Evansville, IN; nieces and nephews: Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Hannah, Steven, Naomi, Tabitha, Christy, Greg and Doug; numerous great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and good friends, Arnold and Rita Wolf and Rich and Sandy Wolf.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Adams.
Friends will be received from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., with Pastor Kathy Mihoerck officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
