In Indiana County Court today, a probation revocation hearing will be held for a 24-year-old former Mentcle man who pleaded guilty in 2012 to the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl.
Shane Michael Negron pleaded guilty to statutory sexual assault for having relations with the girl, with prosecutors agreeing to not press charges of aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age, and corruption of minors. He was sentenced to eight months to two years less a day in the Indiana County Jail, and in April of 2013was released of parole, with monitoring by the Indiana County Probation Department.
In June of last year, Negron moved to Mount Joy, in Lancaster County. Last month, Indiana County Probation filed an application to revoke his probation.
There is also a probation revocation hearing scheduled today for 39-year-old Jeffrey Sims, who is formerly from McIntyre. In 2013, he pleaded guilty to theft and was sentenced to three years in prison. He was also ordered not to enter a Walmart store, which is where the theft occurred.
Sims now lives in Kittanning, but in January of this year, he pleaded guilty in Blair County to retail theft and resisting arrest and was sentenced to 6 months to a year in the Blair County Prison.
Both of the parole revocation hearings are scheduled this morning before Judge William Martin.
