State police in Kittanning have announced the arrest of an Indiana man for driving under the influence and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police do not identify the man in their report, but online court records identify him as 31-year-old Joseph Paul Acker. He was pulled over for a traffic violation last Wednesday night on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township, Armstrong County. Police say he was under the influence of a controlled substance and had a 4-year-old girl in the back seat.
In addition to two counts of DUI and the endangerment offense, Acker is charged with recklessly endangering another person, and five summary traffic offenses, including driving without a license and driving a an unregistered vehicle.
Police say Acker also has outstanding arrest warrants from two other states. He was deemed a flight risk and is being held at the Armstrong County Jail, with bond set at $50,000.
