The White Township Supervisors met last night and heard from a resident saying that he was having some problems with water flooding his basement and his property.
David Smith of the South Sixth Street extension area said that over the last 10-12 years, there’s been a lot of drainage problems and storm water runoff. He said that the flooding that happened last summer really became un-manageable. For Smith, it got to the point where his sump pump could not keep up with the water coming into his basement, and a portion of small stone bridge on his property was washed out from the storm water coming through.
Township Manager Milt Lady said that the township will inspect some of the storm water drain pipes in the area and go from there.
In other business, the board got an update on upgrades to the fire detection system at the township building. Tyco fire detection systems have started work on those upgrades.
