The IUP women’s team advanced to the PSAC semi-final game Saturday afternoon at 3:30 against Millersville, holding off Seton Hill, 67-52, at the KCAC last night.
The Crimson Hawks saw their 18-point lead dwindle to six with 6:19 to play, before a 15-3 run over the next five minutes put away the game.
Four players hit double figures. Megan Smith had 16 points, Brittany Robinson and Carolyn Appleby each had 14 and Lauren Wolosik finished with 10. Junior point guard Appleby also scored the 1,000 point in her career.
Missing its top two scorers, the men dropped a 79-63 decision to Edinboro and now await word if they will be selected for the 64-team NCAA Tournament. The team is 22-8.
The men also had four players hit double figures, as Cobo Diaz and Willem Brandvick each tallied 16.
Malik Miller had 14 and Blake Danielak 11. Edinboro drained 13 three-pointers.
