Mary E. “Betty” (Himes) Davenport, 94, Derry, PA, formerly of Blairsville, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.
The daughter of Harold H. and Louise P. (Moore) Himes, she was born January 3, 1924 in Phoenixville, Chester Co., PA.
Mrs. Davenport was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Blairsville.
She enjoyed being with her family and sewing.
Surviving are two sons, Brett Scott Davenport (Sandra) of West Wheatfield Twp. and Richard L. Davenport (Linda) of Aliquippa; three daughters, Betty Lou Freeman (John) of Eureka, CA; Tamara Potwora (Paul) of Ridgefield, WA and Wendy Smith (Barry) of Derry; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Sutton Davenport in 2000 and a son, Kevin William Davenport in 1957.
As per Mrs. Davenport’s wishes, there will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.

Pennsylvania is one of fifteen states that does not require any form of identification in order to vote. Meanwhile, eight states require photo ID in order to vote with no exceptions. What should Pennsylvania do?
