The Blairsville-Saltsburg School Board met last night and approved an agreement related with a new positive behavior program at the Blairsville Elementary School.
The program, called the Pennsylvania Positive Behavior Support program, is a pilot program for the Blairsville Elementary School. Assistant Superintendent Jeffrey Soles said it will be utilized to acknowledge positive behaviors by rewarding students who do good things in the school. The program agreement will bring an ARIN expert in to assist with the program’s implementation.
The board also approved the second reading and adoptions of three district policies, concerning transportation video and audio recording, purchases not budgeted for and attendance, and got the first look at a policy that concerns electronic devices, with changes in how punishment is handed out for having an improper electronic device on campus.
The board also accepted the retirements of Vicky Campbell, a learning support teacher with the district since 1993, and David Dollman, a social studies teacher since 1996.
