Classes are cancelled today in the Derry Area School District after a written message was found yesterday in a restroom stall at the high school.
On the school district website, officials posted a notice about the threat, which warned students not to come to school today. The notice says that while they believe it’s a “copycat” message, it is best to proceed “with an abundance of caution”, so they are cancelling school today along with all after-school activities. Special education and private school students who require transportation will be bussed as normal today.
The missed school day will be made up on April 3rd.
