More information has come out about the supposed threats that brought the State Police to the Marion Center Junior/Senior High School on Thursday.
State Police say that they received a report of threatening social media posts that were brought to the attention of school district officials, and went to the school to investigate. Troopers interviewed students and administrators and reviewed the social media posts created between February 17th and 19th. It was determined that a juvenile created the social media posts, but it was also determined that the juvenile did not commit any crime as far as the State Police were concerned, as the juvenile did not make any specific threats against the Marion Center School District or any individuals. Troopers determined the case as “unfounded”.
That did not mean that the juvenile was not reprimanded. In a written statement yesterday made to district parents that was supplied to your Hometown Station, Superintendent Clint Weimer said the student was punished via district rules, and confirmed that during that time, the “educational process continued” and no one was in danger.
