Ellen Grace (Lewis) Barnhart, 80, of Blairsville, PA (Derry Twp.) passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018 in the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.
The daughter of Norman B. and Grace M. (Bollinger) Barnhart, she was born May 23, 1937 in Hillside, PA.
Mrs. Barnhart was a member of Crossroads Community Church, Blairsville and was a former Sunday school teacher.
She was a homemaker, loved taking care of her children and also taking care of the neighborhood children.
Surviving are four daughters, Bonnie L. Coleman (Delbert) of Clarksburg; Lisa A. Lydick (Douglas) of Blairsville; Linda M. Edwards (Isaac) of Orlando, FL and Glenda D. Hancock (Terry) of Blairsville; six grandchildren, Jennifer Watson, Jason Weaver, Jeremy Hancock, Lyle Hancock, Brian Palmer and Dakota Hostallero; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Norma Jean Lewis of Blairsville and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Lyle A. Barnhart on January 3, 2018; three brothers, Norman, John and Joseph Lewis and two sisters, Rose McCandless and Mildred Lewis.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Rusty McClurg officiating.
Interment will be in Livermore Cemetery, Derry Twp., PA.

Pennsylvania is one of fifteen states that does not require any form of identification in order to vote. Meanwhile, eight states require photo ID in order to vote with no exceptions. What should Pennsylvania do?
