Mary (Lupyan) Sracic, 92, formerly of Blairsville, PA, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 17, 2018 in Homewood at Martinsburg, Martinsburg, PA.
The daughter of George and Mary (Polly) Lupyan, she was born May 12, 1925 in Bitumen, PA.
Mary was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville. She was also an Angel of Mercy.
Prior to her retirement in 1979, she was employed by Torrance State Hospital in the housekeeping department for many years.
Mary was best known for her affable personality, her love of family and friends and her devotion to her church. She also enjoyed gardening and loved flowers.
Surviving are a daughter, Lorrie Meloy and her husband, Frank of Altoona and a son, John M. Sracic and his wife, Linda of Maytown; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Edward Lupyan and his wife, Mary of New Alexandria and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 32 years in 1978, John Sracic whom she married June 19, 1946; four brothers, George, John, Joseph and Andrew Lupyan and four sisters, Margaret Gordon, Ann Andritz, Lorraine Kelly and Irene Seliy.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Wednesday. Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:15 A.M. Thursday in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay celebrant.
Entombment will be in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, PA.

Pennsylvania is one of fifteen states that does not require any form of identification in order to vote. Meanwhile, eight states require photo ID in order to vote with no exceptions. What should Pennsylvania do?
