Saturday’s snow contributed to a number of accidents, including one shortly before 5:30 PM in which a Commodore woman was injured. State police say an SUV driven by 25-year-old Jennifer Bitens left Route 403 in Pine Township and struck a tree. The crash happened near School Road. Bitens was taken to the Indiana Regional Medical Center with injuries of unknown severity.
Other accidents since the show started Saturday afternoon include crashes on North Ben Franklin Road in Armstrong Township, Route 210 in North Mahoning Township, Route 403 in East Wheatfield Township, Barclay Road in White Township, Wayne Avenue in White Township, and Route 22 in Blairsville. Firefighters were also called for traffic situations on Warren Road in White Township and Route 56 in East Wheatfield Township.
State police also report the arrest of a 38-year-old man on Wednesday morning along Christy Park Drive in White Township. Police were summoned for a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood and noted signs of impairment when they pulled the driver over. Further details are not yet available.
