The White Township Supervisors last night heard progress on a plan to help maintain some storm water ponds.
The ponds in question are ponds in residential areas like Heritage Oaks, Fairfax and other places, and in some instances, the ponds have been un-maintained for several years. Matt Genchur, the township code enforcement officer said that this is an attempt to help curb flooding similar to what we saw this past year. The idea is to maintain the ponds so they can work efficiently.
The township is looking at three or four ponds for takeover this year, and several others are in the process of being taken over.
In other business, the township was updated on the traffic signal project for the intersection of Warren Road, Indian Springs Road and Ben Franklin Road. Assistant Township Manager Chris Anderson announced that township officials negotiated an agreement with Traffic Planning and Design to complete the engineering for the traffic signal. That part of the project must be done by the end of June and this portion of the project will cost $20,000.
