A Hillsdale woman suffered suspected serious injuries yesterday morning in a Clearfield County crash.
State police say 58-year-old Billee Adams was driving northbound on Burnside McGee Highway, about two miles south of Mahaffey in an area known as “Cattlepin Curve”, when a big rig coming the opposite way slid out on control on the icy road, bouncing off the guiderails, then spinning back across the road, where Adams’ minivan hit the rear of the truck.
Adams was taken to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. The trucker, 28-year-old Nathan McClelland of Madera, was not hurt.
No one was injured yesterday morning in a collision on East Main Street in Marion Center. Police say 45-year-old Shayne Brandenburg of Home was stopped behind a vehicle that was waiting to make a left turn when Brandenburg’s SUV was hit from behind by another vehicle, whose driver fled the scene eastbound. Brandenburg was able to provide a description of the driver and vehicle which hit him, and police were able to locate 37-year-old Charles Brooks of Marion Center, who faces a charge of failure to give information and render aid.
