State Police are investigating some cases of fraudulent purchases that go back to 2015.
The incident that goes back to 2015 is one that happened in Marion Center as a 42-year-old woman opened a Verizon Wireless account in the name of her ex-fiancee and accumulated a lot of fees that were never paid. Police have not released the names of the suspect or the victim.
One case goes back to July and August of last year, as someone fraudulently used a credit card belonging to a 51-year-old Clymer woman to ring up $518.87 in charges.
A third case reported by state troopers involved a 25-year-old Saltsburg man who reported that someone used his debit card to make two fraudulent purchases totaling $171.96. This was on January 26th.
State Police are investigating a theft of drugs that happened in White Township in January. The theft happened between January 3rd and the 28th at a home on Geesey Road. The victim, a 76-year-old Indiana woman, reported that someone stole fentanyl patches and hydrocodone pills from her home. Police have only identified the suspect as a 41-year-old man from Blairsville.
