Patricia Kunkle LoPresti, age 89 of Brush Valley, died Saturday, February 3, 2018 at her home.
She was born in 1928 to Ralph and Martha Gilbert Kunkle in Indiana.
After graduation from Homer City High School and Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, she worked as a registered nurse at Indiana Hospital, Eastern Orthodox Foundation, and Torrance State Hospital.
She was a Good News Club Teacher and served as a lay speaker and Bible Study teacher at various churches throughout the community. She also volunteered at the Christian Counseling Center of Indiana for over 20 years, serving as the Executive Director for much of that time. She was a member of Summit
Church, (formerly First Assembly of God), for more than 30 years.
“Pat” loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ whom she began a relationship with when she was a teenager and served Him faithfully all her life. She loved her family and living on “the farm” that she purchased with her husband John in 1952. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with family. She loved her faithful companion Izzy, as well as many dogs throughout her life. She also loved reminiscing about her childhood growing up on Kunkle Ave. in Homer City and the family camp near Yellow Creek State Park.
She had a quick wit and didn’t hesitate to speak her mind. She cared deeply about other people and their problems, always pointing them to Jesus. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by one son and one daughter, John LoPresti and wife Jackie, Red Lodge, MT; Hope Hampton and husband Dale, Brush Valley; son-in-law John Burda, Brush Valley; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two sisters, Peg Elder, Trafford; Judy McCullough, Lexington, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Faith Burda, her husband of 59 years, John LoPresti, two sisters, June Pegnetter and Rebecca Petrie.
Friends will be received on Friday from 10 to 11 A.M. at the Summit Church, Indiana, where a funeral service will begin at 11 A.M. with the Rev. Richard Motzing officiating. Private interment will be made in the Brush Valley Chapel Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their great appreciation to the VNA of Indiana for their loving care. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA, 850 Hospital Rd., Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
