John Samuel Marsh, 90, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at his home.
The son of Dward and Vivian (Long) Marsh, he was born August 6, 1927 in Torrance, PA.
Mr. Marsh was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and worked for Lichtenfels Trucking, Black Lick, prior to his retirement.
He enjoyed working around the house and in his younger years he loved hunting.
Surviving are three children, Minnie Heming of Blairsville; Billy Jo Fara of Old Forge and Andrew Marsh (Pamela) of Walnut Bottom; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Kyle Marsh of Sacramento, CA; Tim Marsh of Lemasters; Carl Marsh (Linda) of Bolivar and a sister, Virgil Coldren of Sinking Springs and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille “Fluff” (Willard) Marsh in 2012; three brothers, Donald, James and Robert Marsh and a sister, Betty Rothermel.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Cory A. Braatz officiating.
Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.

America 250
The America250 celebration is coming up. Are you doing anything special?
Yes! Can't wait for the Friday night parade and Saturday's YMCA Star Spangled Celebration at Mack Park!
We'll do our typical picnic and sparklers thing!
We're traveling to some great U.S. historical sites, such as Philadelphia or Washington, D.C.
Nothing special. Just a typical weekend at our house.
