State Representative Cris Dush yesterday announced more than $285,000 state funding for twenty-five fire companies in the 66th District, including five in Indiana County.
The funds come from slot machine gambling proceeds and are intended for:
- Construction or renovation of facilities
- Purchase or repair of equipment
- Traininig
- Reduction of existing debt
They are administered by the state EMA and the office of the state fire commissioner.
In Indiana County, fund recipients include five fire companies. Two of them, The Marion Center fire department and the Glen Campbell fire fighters, will receive $11,543. The other three, the fire companies in Cherry Tree, Commodore and Rossiter, will receive slightly more: $11,727.
