Frances “Franny” Geraldine (Donahey) McCoy, 78, of Purchase Line, PA died on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at AristaCare @ Hillsdale Park in Hillsdale, PA.
The daughter of Lester Hobert and Florence Frances (Fyock) Donahey, she was born on December 12, 1939 in Grant Twp., Indiana County, PA.
Franny married William Roger McCoy on June 7, 1958 and they shared over fifty-nine years of marriage together.
She was a longtime member of the Calvary Baptist Church, where Franny enjoyed going on trips with Senior Saints.
Franny’s innate gift was her ability to graciously reach out and assist with a helping hand to whomever was in need.
Franny is survived by her loving husband, William of Purchase Line, PA; her son: Mike McCoy and wife Tracy of East Run, PA; her grandson: Kenny McCoy; her granddaughter Samantha McCoy; great granddaughter, Olivia and her sister: Marie Westover, location unknown.
She was like a second mother to her special friend: Nancy Duck and husband, Mart of Cherry Tree, PA and their two daughters: Lisa & husband, Stu and their children: Logan and Ian and Jennifer and husband, Josh and their children: Wyatt, Liam and the three week old infant, named after Franny, Stella Mae Geraldine Jean.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her five brothers: Kenneth, Valgene, Edward, Richard and Donald McCoy; her three sisters: Wilda Gromley; Velma Gamble and Yvonne Nichol.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the 2:00 p.m. funeral service at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA. Rick Leasure will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Indiana, PA.
Franny’s family would like to extend their grateful appreciation to Dr. Ramineni and staff at the Cancer Center in Indiana, PA and the Penn Hospice staff, who so kindly cared for Franny at AristaCare @ Hillsdale Park, as well as a special thank you to all the people who prayed for Franny during her five and a half year battle with cancer.
