Mary Sasala, 89, Coral died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Moorewood House. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Tina Zaffuta and was born May 28, 1928 in Indiana.
Mary was a member of the Holy Protection of Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Homer City. She worked as a beautician and was employed by Betty Lou’s Salon in Coral in her younger years.
Mary is survived by her husband, Albert; children, Barbara Kennedy, Pittsburgh; Cindy (John) Caimi, Ridgway; Patti Sasala, Indiana and Albert (Cindie) Sasala, Murrysville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Melissa (Jon) Whitsel, Center Hall, PA; Amanda (Dan) Gilman, Pittsburgh; Jessica Kennedy, Pittsburgh; Adam Caimi, State College; Nathan (Amber) Anderson, Bellevue and Joshua Anderson, Glenside. Nine great grandchildren, Conner, Austin, Madeline, Zachary, Ashley, Samuel, Olive, Willow, Zane and several nieces and nephews also survive her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Allison Caimi and brothers, John Sam Zaffuta and sister, Fran Ostrawski.
A Parastas service will be held Saturday at noon with Rev. Father Jerome Botsko followed by visitation from 1PM until 5PM. Private Interment will be held at St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.
