Two Ligonier Valley High School students – a boy and a girl – will face juvenile charges for making a threat last Tuesday that forced the evacuation of the district’s school buildings. The students were identified on Thursday.
The school district moved students out of the high school after the unspecified threat was discovered in a restroom stall, and were then bussed home. Superintendent Christine Oldham wrote in an open letter to parents that it was a threat that was “time-specific” but did not target a specific school building. While Oldham does not specify what the nature of the threat was in the body of her letter, the website link to the letter says it was a bomb threat.
The charges against the two students will be adjudicated by Westmoreland County Juvenile Court.
