A casino company that won a recent mini-casino license auction plans to build in Derry Township, Westmoreland County.
Stadium Casino, LLC, a joint venture of The Cordish Companies and Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, bid $40.1 Million for the license, and selected Derry Township for the site of the casino due to its close proximity to Greensburg and Pittsburgh. The company will build this casino at the same time that they are building the Live! Hotel and Casino in Philadelphia with a slated opening date in 2020.
No word on where exactly in Derry they wish to build, but plans will be released in the coming weeks.
