Two people suffered suspected minor injuries in a vehicle crash on Old Route 22 in Burrell Township. State Police say 56-year-old John Zufall of Blairsville was driving East on Old Route 22 and was trying to turn left onto Villa Road and did not see a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Ryan Moffat that had also turned onto Villa Road. After impact, Zufall’s vehicle spun 90 degrees while Moffatt’s car spun slightly, and the two vehicles impacted a second time. Zufall’s vehicle came to rest in a front yard about 30 feet away, while Moffat’s vehicle came to rest at the intersection of Old Route 22 and Villa Road. Moffat and his passenger, 47-year-old John Hoffman of Bradenville suffered suspected minor injuries. Both were treated on scene by citizens ambulance personnel.
State police have charged a Homer City man with reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of children. Someone had seen a 2-year-old boy outside a home on Main Street in Homer City wearing just a pair of pajamas and no shoes in the rain. When the child stepped onto the street, a neighbor got the child back to safety and called State Troopers. Contact was made with Dalton Trevor Davis, the child’s father, who thought the child was napping. Children and Youth Services advised that the child stay with the father, but a follow up visit would be conducted. A criminal complaint was filed in district judge Suzanne Steffee’s court. A preliminary hearing is pending.
A seventeen year old Blairsville boy is facing a charge of corruption of minors for an incident at Blairsville High School. Police say that between November 1st of last year and January 16th, a 13-year-old woman reported that the older boy sent her sexually suggestive comments via email and sent her inappropriate pictures.
