State Police continue to investigate the death of a 26-year-old woman over the weekend at the Poets Village apartment complex in White Township, and Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman Jr. says he is awaiting the results of an autopsy and toxicology tests to determine a cause and manner of death.
According to the coroner’s timeline, Shakita Nicole Evans was found lying outside of her apartment at 604 Millay Circle at about 10:46 PM on Saturday. Overman says she had left the apartment shortly before that. She was pronounced dead at 11:30 Saturday night at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.
An autopsy was performed yesterday. State Police have reported only that they are investigating.
