Another candidate has announced a run for the 9th District Congressional seat being vacated later this year by Bill Shuster. No, it’s not Dave Reed.
Calling himself the “working man’s man”, Franklin County farmer and businessman Travis Schooley, a former Army intelligence analyst and Pennsylvania National Guardsman, says he will join Art Halvorson and State Senator John Eichelberger on the Spring Primary ballot.
Meanwhile, State House Majority Leader Dave Reed has not yet announced whether he has come to a decision on whether he will seek Shsuter’s seat. It’s a big decision, with Reed in line to become Speaker of the House as current Speaker Mike Turzai mounts a run for governor.
Shuster announced earlier this month that he won’t seek another term in Congress.
