Blairsville Borough police say they have identified the person they believe is responsible for the fire that caused $425,000 worth of damage at a commercial building in downtown Blarsville on Tuesday morning.
The building housed Fox’s Pizza Den and a law office on the first floor and apartments on the second floor, and fire officials had previously said the early-morning blaze was believed to have started in one of the upstairs apartments. Police say no one has been charged. the state police fire marshal ruled the fire to be “incendiary in nature” but has not ruled it to be arson or deliberately set, pending further investigation.
In a news release, police say they “do not believe there is any further risk to the community at this time.”
