State police have issued reports on three separate criminal incidents, all variations on identity theft schemes.
The first – and most expensive – report involves a thief who got hold of an Indiana man’s credit car information and ran up charges totaling $2,832.98. The 51-year-old victim’s name has not been released. He lives along Home Street in White Township. The thefts occurred between August 23rd and 31st last year.
The second incident is dated between December 14th and January 6th. Police say a 21-year-old Indiana man sent $480 via Western Union to an individual in Nigeria the victim believed was his online girlfriend. The victim lives along Warren Road in White Township.
In the third report, police say an unknown suspect fraudulently charged about $32 to the bank account of a 48-year-old Clymer woman who lives along Route 286 in Cherryhill Township on December 20th.
State police also report a swipe-and-swap theft at the White Township Walmart store. 35-year-old James Patrick Edwards of Lower Burrell is accused of taking a hoverboard from a store shelf and completing a fraudulent return on December 12th.
Police also report a burglary at a home along Steele Road in East Mahoning Township A 27-year-old man and 28-year-old woman are accused of entering the home and prying open a gun cabinet on Tuesday afternoon. They fled the home without taking anything. The suspects have not been publicly identified.
