In Indiana County Court today, a number of defendants are scheduled to be sentenced, including 35-year-old Jonathan McLaurine of Indiana. He pleaded guilty in September to possession with intent to deliver, endangering the welfare of children, and receiving stolen property. He and his wife, who has since passed away, were arrested last January after a police raid at their home on South Walnut Street. Ninety-one stamp bags of heroin, about one gram of crack cocaine, and a handgun were seized, and police found the home in such a deplorable state that the couple’s two children were deemed to be in danger from the living conditions.
22-year-old Mason Jackson of New Brighton, Beaver County, will be sentenced for a guilty plea to robbery, with non-prosecution for aggravated assault and related offenses. Jackson and two other men beat and pistol-whipped two men at an apartment on South 8th Street in Indiana in October of 2015. Investigators showed the victims a social media photo of one of the suspects, Spencer Bacon, and they identified Jackson from the same picture. He challenged that identification, but at a motions hearing in September, he agreed to plead guilty.
23-year-old Nicholas McIntyre of Indiana will be sentenced for a guilty plea to receiving stolen property.
26-year-old David Eberhardt of Portersville, Butler County, will be sentenced for receiving stolen property. He has had numerous criminal convictions in his home county.
