The Polar Bear Plunge in Blairsville has been postponed.
Sunday began with temperatures well below zero again, and for the second time, the planners of the Polar Bear Plunge had to postpone their event, in which people jump into the Conemaugh River.
Fortunately, a major change is coming to break the frigid spell of sub-zero weather we’ve experienced for the past week. The forecast calls for temperatures to soar into the fifties, with rain arriving in mid-week. The forecast calls for 1 to 3 inches of snow Monday, mostly in the morning hours, before a partly cloudy day on Tuesday, and then occasional rain for the rest of the week.
