The Blairsville Polar Bear Plunge has been postponed once again.
The plunge was originally supposed to take place on New Year’s Day, but the bitter cold temperatures forced organizers to postpone it to Sunday. Now, Ab Detorre of the Polar Bear Plunge has said that the weather and the ice on the Conemaugh has forced the postponement again. Detorre said that the ice buildup on the river is making it dangerous, and they want to be sure that everything is safe.
Detorre said the plunge will STILL happen, but when is not certain. But when it does happen, a seven-day notice will be given to give people time to get ready.
