UPDATE: A White Township woman is now without a home because of a fire late this morning.
The Fire was first reported at 11:12 this morning on Sleepy Hollow Road, just past the orchard. Indiana fire companies 4 and 1 were assisted on-scene by Marion Center and Clymer fire departments. Indiana Fire Chief Paul Koons said when he got to the scene, the fire had already gone through the roof of the structure. The structure was completely destroyed.
The home was owned by Tammy Boring, who was at work and not at home when the fire started. Koons was not sure of how the fire started, but he did say the State Police Fire Marshals were being called in to investigate. Koons added that the cold temperatures did not do the firefighters any favors, as the water from the fire trucks froze on the roadway.
Multiple fire departments were called out late this morning for a fire in Rayne Township.
PennDOT and Young Township provided fire crews with salt and anti-skid material to keep the roads free from ice. The American Red Cross has been called in to assist Boring.
