Virginia Lee Duncan, 95, of Aurora, OH, formerly of Indiana, passed away Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017.
A daughter of the late William and Ethel Bear Wright, she was born Jan. 21, 1922, in Cumberland, MD.
Mrs. Duncan graduated from Conemaugh Valley Hospital School of Nursing in September of 1943. Virginia was proud of her years of service as the Nurse Director at the Indiana Cerebral Palsy Clinic and at the Infirmary/Medical Center at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she made lifelong friends whom she visited every summer. She spent the last 12 years of her life in Aurora, Ohio, feeding and cataloging birds, crocheting hats that she gave to everyone, and playing with her great-grandchildren.
She was a loving mother to her two children: Debra Shorr and husband Alan; and the late Norman “Butch” Lynn Duncan, III; dear grandmother of Alison Jaeb, Ryan Shorr, Jeremy Shorr, Stephanie Quinn, Catherine Lazorishak and Sean Duncan; great-grandmother of eight: Natalie, Charlie, Lila, Jackson, Lilly, Lucy, Sammy and Jayden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and was the beloved wife of the late Norman “Jack” Lynn Duncan, Jr.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., where a funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., with the Rev. Todd Cogar officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
