No one was hurt and everyone was able to get out safe and stay warm at a small house fire in Clymer Borough.
The fire was at a home on Jefferson Street, with Clymer, Commodore, and Cherryhill Township fire departments initially called out at 8:19 AM. David Neese, who lives in the home, said he discovered the fire after he was woken up by something striking a light fixture. The noise woke him up and he noticed an orange glow in the light globe, and determined it was fire. He grabbed a bottle of water and squirted water into the electrical socket and was able to put most of the fire out before leaving the house and calling 911.
Cambria County’s RIT team, along with Marion Center Fire department would be called to the scene later to assist.
