Westmoreland County Judge Christopher Feliciani has set January 16th as the date for a status conference in the case of 21-year-old Dylan Blair, a Saltsburg man accused of supplying drugs to a Derry woman on Christmas night last year. The woman, 38-year-old Michelle Spillar, died the next day from an overdose of heroin mixed with fentanyl.
Blair was taken into custody in May when Westmoreland County sheriff’s deputies tracked him down at the Days Inn along Route 22 in Burrell Township. When they went to his hotel room, they found Blair and another man who was in the middle of overdosing. That man, Edward Russian of Saltsburg, revived and is facing drug charges in Indiana County. His case is currently listed as inactive.
Blair is charged with four felonies in the Spillar case: drug delivery resulting death and three counts of delivery of a controlled substance. Police found two full stamp bags of heroin and one empty one at Spillar’s side. They tested positive for significant amounts of fentanyl and heroin.
Blair is being held in the Allegheny County Jail. He also faces possession charges in Indiana County for the Days Inn arrest.
