The Blairsville Polar Bear Plunge has been postponed and moved to Sunday, January 7 at 1 PM, still at the Bairdstown Bridge boat launch.
The event was to celebrate its seventh year on New Year’s Day at noon. Event organizer Ab Dettorre made the decision to postpone on Thursday evening, citing safety concerns related to the weather. The weather forecast for Monday is calling for a high of 15 degrees and a low of just three degrees.
Josh Widdowson of Your Hometown Radio Stations will be taking the plunge and he still asking for pledges to support him, as all proceeds from the event benefit the Teddy Bear Fund Drive. You can make a pledge to support Josh by calling 724-465-4700 right up until plunge time next Sunday at 1 p.m.
